STEVE ALVES' FILM SERIES ON GCTV

GCTV showcased local filmmaker Steve Alves, throughout November and December 2009, by airing his collection of films about Western Massachusetts. The "Where We Live" Series began with an interview of Steve Alves by Franklin County Chamber of Commerce President Ann Hamilton.

The series continued with:

"Beneath the River", which explores the stretch of the Connecticut River that flows through Western Massachusetts;

"A Sweet Tradition", which portrays the love and labor of Massachusetts families who make maple syrup;

"Together in Time", which tells the history of contra music and dance and the region's vital role in sustaining a New England tradiition;

"Everyone's Business", which depicts the region's economic history and profiles successful local entrepreneurs;

"Life After High School", which explores jobs and attitudes towards work at five local companies;

and

"Talking to the Wall", which examines sprawl development in Western Massachusetts and a town's encounter with the world's largest retailer.
