Creativity

This week, we’re thinking about imagination and the power to bring it to life as well as make money from it.  Following up on our post last week, about artists and business people getting together for the Creative Economy Summit, we want to let you know that we’ve set up a page on our website where you can find links to pictures, videos, and more information about that great conference.  Whether you missed the event, or want to review what you learned there, click here to check it out.

Creative Economy Summit 2013

This page is our clearinghouse for all things related to the Creative Economy Summit, held March 22 & 23, 2013, in Turners Falls.  The summit is an arts meets business symposium and this year's theme was, "Cultural Vitality: In Person, Around Town and Online".  From here you can look at our photo album, find out more about the event, watch the videos online, and learn when they'll be airing on Cable Channel 15.

The Future of Photography, Part 3

Continuing our look at the art of the still image and how it's changing, this week Lisa Robinson of Hallmark Institute of Photography explains why their students focus on the business of art.

Creative Economy Live!---UPDATED 3/21/13

For the first time, several Creative Economy Summit (CES) sessions will be streamed live on www.gctv.org!  Greenfield Community Television will once again be filming many of the event’s "art meets business" workshops for future viewing online, and on Cable Channel 15, but this year you’ll be able watch a few of them as they happen---even if you can’t make it to Turners Falls this weekend.

Be sure to check our homepage beginning at 9:15am on Friday for the Opening Plenary, “What’s in it for Me?”  Afterwards, we’ll be streaming one of the workshops in each of the sessions at 11am, 2pm, and 3:30pm and again on Saturday at 10:30am, 1:45pm, and 3:15pm.  We’re really excited about this advancement in our coverage and hope you will be too.
