Prep Work
A lot of time this week was spent planning for the future. On Monday night, our Station Manager sat down with officers of the Greenfield High School Music Parents Association to hammer out some of the details for this year’s fundraiser. Their annual telethon, which raises much needed funds to augment the Greenfield High School Music Program, will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 15 on Wednesday, March 14th. Prior to that, instruments need to be brought over, equipment installed, phones set up, and many other things coordinated, in addition to the hours of rehearsal time that the students put in.
On Tuesday evening, our board of directors held their Annual Meeting in our studio. In addition to looking back over our performance in 2011, which we discussed in last week’s blog post, they elected new officers and talked about ways for us to grow. We appreciate the commitment of all our board members but GCTV’s staff would particularly like to thank the former head of our board, GCC’s Garry Longe, for all of his service and congratulate our new interim president, Ralph Gordon.
Finally, on Thursday morning, our Station Manager and our New Media Producer participated in a conference call with the folks who designed our new website. Their conversation centered around possible next steps for the site including improved presence for newly added videos, pulldown menus, and increased functionality. As this project progresses we’ll point out the advances we’re making here, in our weekly blog post, so stay tuned.
