And the Winners Are...

June 12, 2012

***UPDATE 3:45pm 6/13/13:  Hot off the press!  The Town Clerk's Office just finished tabulating all the write-in & blank votes for yesterday's election.  (For more of an explanation about why this was necessary, please see our blog.)  We've updated the graphic below to reflect the official totals, with changes highlighted in yellow.  The person with the highest number of write-in votes for a one year position as Veteran Trustee of Soldiers Memorial is David Lewis (with 7 votes) and for the three year Non-Veteran Trustee of Soldiers Memorial it is Ruth Ellen Henry (with 6).  (For more about this process, again please see our blog.)  Also, the correct results for the Councilor At Large seat are:  Dalton Athey 585, Tim Farrell 255, Cameron Ward 14, other individuals 22, as well as 360 actual blanks.  Finally, the Mayor's race breaks down this way:  William Martin 790, Chris Forgey 18, Tim Farrell 15, Dan Guinn 10, & Dalton Athey 2, as well as 60 other individuals and 341 blanks.***

John Lunt & Francia Wisnewski had the highest vote totals in the contested race for two seats on Greenfield's School Committee.  As of 9:45pm 6/12/12 all of the write-in & blank (some of the write-ins were accidentally misread by the machine as blank and had to be hand counted) votes for the Town Councilor At Large race had been tallied and the results are as follows:  Dalton Athey 585, Tim Farrell 296, Cameron Ward 14, Chris Forgey 1, as well as 340 actual blanks.  As of 10pm write-ins for the vacant Trustee of Soldiers Memorial positions were still being counted so we will have those names for you tomorrow.

Number of registered voters in Greenfield: 11,130
Number of ballots cast: 1,236
Voter turnout=11.11%
